Na hyaluronate
Indications/Uses
Deforming gonarthrocace, periomarthritis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 pre-filled syringe (20 mg) inj into the affected joint once a wk to a total of 3 inj using standard technique.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Na hyaluronate & avian proteins. Skin diseases or infections at inj site. History or known hepatic failure.
Special Precautions
Severe joint inflammation. Transient pain at inj joint. Leaked drug beyond articular cavity may cause pain. Inflammatory arthritis eg, RA or gouty arthritis. Avoid strenuous activities eg, jogging, tennis or prolonged (>1 hr) wt-bearing activities w/in 48 hr after intra-articular inj. Discontinue use if no symptom improvement after 3 inj. Not for IV & ophth use. Inj topical anesth prior to administration. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Shock; hypersensitivity eg, edema (facial & palpebral edema), facial flare, rash, urticaria & itching; inj site reactions eg, occasional pain, swelling, dropsy, flare, warmth, severe pressure on topical site & ecchymosis; nausea, vomiting, fever & headache.
Drug Interactions
Do not administer simultaneously or mix w/ other intra-articular injectables.
